Celebrating the Markusovszky Lajos Prize

We are proud to share that this summer, our collaborative research was honored with the Markusovszky Lajos Prize, awarded by Orvosi Hetilap (Hungarian Medical Journal). The prize recognized the article: “Pathology of transplanted heart rejection using artificial intelligence-based image analysis of endomyocardial biopsies” by Szferle et al. In this study, the BIAS platform was used as the image processing tool, enabling advanced AI-based analysis of biopsy samples in the context of heart transplantation pathology. We are deeply grateful to have contributed as co-authors to this work. The award is not only a recognition of scientific excellence, but also a testament to the strength of collaboration across clinical, academic, and technological communities. Our thanks go to the editorial board of Orvosi Hetilap for this recognition, to our co-authors for their outstanding contributions, and to the broader community working at the intersection of pathology and artificial intelligence.
