Single-Cell Technologies (SCT) is a medtech company specializing in AI-driven biomedical image processing for healthcare, research, and drug development.
Since its founding in 2017 by Péter Horváth, SCT's mission has been to bring the best biomedical computer vision for healthcare, research, and drug development.
CEO & Founder
Péter Horváth’s passion for computer vision began as a teenager coding on a Commodore 64. Later, he studied image analysis at university, eventually earning a PhD. His expertise in computer vision took him to ETH Zurich, where he applied image-processing techniques to biological research. Eventually, he returned to Hungary, embarking on a mission to understand the smallest unit of life - single cells - with the goal of applying it to the healing of patients.
In Hungary, at the Biological Research Centre, Szeged, Horváth and his team began developing advanced single-cell segmentation techniques. Initially, their software was only usable by experts who understood how to run advanced code, limiting accessibility. To bridge this gap, SCT was founded.
